If your chimney is leakingAfter many years use old, and particularly unlined chimneys can create many problems. Over time hot smoke, tars and acids eat into the chimney walls and erode mortar joints causing staining to the exterior stone or brickwork, and leakage of dangerous fumes into the property. Multiflex protects old chimneys against deterioration and leakage by providing a new gastight flue liner that withstands high temperatures and minimises the risk of tar deposits. If you have problems with smoky firesLarge chimneys with oversized, uneven or damp flues are very inefficient and usually produce poor up draught causing smoke to blow back into the room. The Multiflex liner provides a smooth and sealed flue that warms quickly to create a strong updraught, allowing stoves and fires to operate efficiently. Opening up an old fireplace or installing a new fireAs many old chimneys were built without flue liners and risk leakage it is always prudent to have a new liner fitted. Indeed, most stove and fire manufacturers require that the chimney has a suitable flue liner of the correct size and specification to ensure safe and efficient operation of the fire or stove. Multiflex is available in wide choice of sizes complete with fittings for easy connection to stoves and fires. The liners are specially designed for quick installation with the minimum of disruption, and their flexibility can cope with bends of up to 45 degree and typical “offset” Victorian chimneys. |
High grade specification and materialsMultiflex liners have a robust double-skin construction for use with multifuel burning stoves, fires or boilers. The inner wall is designed to provide a smooth gas tight flue for the safe and efficient passage of flue gases. The outer skin has a durable corrugated construction to allow maximum flexibility. The liners are listed by HETAS for use with solid fuel and are covered by CSTB testing approval to comply with UK Building Regulations. The liners have a performance designation of the liners as defined by European Standard BS EN 1443 is T450 N2 S D3.There are two types of Multiflex liner.
Multiflex 316. Made from the 316 grade stainless steel for use with open fires, multifuel or wood burning stoves, and appliances burning gas or oil. Multiflex 904L. Made entirely from high-grade 904L stainless steel that has significantly increased resistance against corrosion. Designed for use with coal or solid fuel burning appliances, and for installations where a higher specification of liner is required.
