If your chimney is leaking

After many years use old, and particularly unlined chimneys can create many problems. Over time hot smoke, tars and acids eat into the chimney walls and erode mortar joints causing staining to the exterior stone or brickwork, and leakage of dangerous fumes into the property.

Multiflex protects old chimneys against deterioration and leakage by providing a new gastight flue liner that withstands high temperatures and minimises the risk of tar deposits.

If you have problems with smoky fires

Large chimneys with oversized, uneven or damp flues are very inefficient and usually produce poor up draught causing smoke to blow back into the room.

The Multiflex liner provides a smooth and sealed flue that warms quickly to create a strong updraught, allowing stoves and fires to operate efficiently.

Opening up an old fireplace or installing a new fire

As many old chimneys were built without flue liners and risk leakage it is always prudent to have a new liner fitted. Indeed, most stove and fire manufacturers require that the chimney has a suitable flue liner of the correct size and specification to ensure safe and efficient operation of the fire or stove.

Multiflex is available in wide choice of sizes complete with fittings for easy connection to stoves and fires. The liners are specially designed for quick installation with the minimum of disruption, and their flexibility can cope with bends of up to 45 degree and typical “offset” Victorian chimneys.

FC - Top Fixing Clamp

Secures and supports the liner at the top of the chimney.

CP - Top Closing Plate

Used to close off the gap around the liner at the top of the chimney.

BS - Bottom Support Bracket

Provides lateral restraint to the base of the liner.

BSR - Bottom Support Bracket

Supports the base of the liner when it is insulated with the RW insulation
mat.

MA - Adaptor

Connects the liner to a flue pipe of the same diameter.

MR - Reducer

Connects the liner to a flue pipe of smaller diameter. (See the table below for spigot sizes.)

MC - Connector

Used for connection of the liner to special flue pipes. Has a socket at both ends.

GA - Gather Adaptor

Secured and sealed into the masonry gather above an open fire, this adaptor
has a socket at the top for connection to the liner.

RW - Rockwool Insulation Mat

Used to insulate liners in large chimneys. The mat is 30mm thick with galvanized wire mesh backing and supplied in 1metre x 5metre rolls. (See table for coverage.)

MFS - Inner sleeve insert

Slides into the top end of the liner to cover the cut edges

Isokern Pumice Liners

This is the original pumice flue liner system with over 50 years proven use in Scandinavia and has approvals from many different countries, including British Board of Agrément certification. Lightweight and easy to handle these liners are lowered down the chimney then surrounded by an insulating backfill.
